about

In 2017, Chinese Bible Mission (CBM) expanded its global vision by establishing its Asia ministry, focused on sharing the gospel and supporting church planting across the Taiwan and Southeast Asia region. Building on decades of ministry experience in North America, CBM Asia partners with local churches, trains emerging leaders, and provides cross-cultural ministry opportunities, including short-term mission projects and immersive experiences. This branch reflects CBM’s commitment to raising up the next generation of leaders and making disciples in communities throughout Asia.

During the pandemic, CBM established Linkou International Church in Linkou, Taiwan, and continues to support its growth and pastoral development. The church has seen steady attendance growth and also hosts CBM’s short-term mission programs, offering hands-on ministry opportunities for participants.

Core pillars of ministry

seminary and pastoral training

Chinese Christianity is growing at such a rapid pace that there are not enough trained workers to provide sound teaching and leadership. CBM is actively seeking qualified pastors, seminary professors, and Christian counselors to join us in equipping these local leaders.

How you can be involved:

  • Attend a vision trip with one of CBM’s trainers

  • Become an itinerant trainer/teacher/professor

  • Sponsor a training event/conference/class

  • Sponsor a trainer financially

church planting

While existing churches in China and the larger congregation are particularly targeted under the current wave of persecution, it is actually a great time to start new ministries. People remain hungry for the gospel and many who no longer can worship in the registered churches are now looking to connect with these new house churches.

CBM is actively seeking out potential church planters and supporting various other church planting movements working with Chinese people. CBM identifies, screens, trains, and follows-up with qualifies church planting candidates, and provides the spiritual and logistical support.

Ways to be involved:

  • Sponsor a church planter

  • Connect your church to a church plant for partnership opportunities (i.e. joint summer project)

  • Be an intern on a church planting team

  • Sponsor a church plant financially (about $25,000-30,000 USD over 3 years - depending on region - to cover rent and salary)

counseling

China’s believers need equipping and tools to help address the many emotional issues brought about by family brokenness and unresolved traumas. There are few readily accessible resources for Christian counseling.

CBM is creating a Chinese-language counseling resource website, drawing together materials from various sources, to help Chinese Christians, pastors, and workers fill their ministry toolbox.
