Prepare

All short-term project team participants will be expected to participate in pre-trip training and preparations. Expect to be challenged in:

  • Expanding your missional perspective and cross-cultural mindset. Exercise adaptability in a cross-cultural setting.

  • Building teamwork and conflict resolution skills.

  • Sharing your spiritual gifts and serving together with others from different backgrounds.

  • Growing spiritual discernment of your role in the story of God’s glory. Watch for how God is shaping, equipping, and transforming you through this STM journey. Pray purposefully for those you will be ministering to.

  • Cultivating personal spiritual formation and drawing more intimately to God.

Pre-field training consists of 4 group interactive sessions, with readings, reflections, and assignments to be completed between each session. Church teams are expected to provide their own training leader and to schedule sessions for their team, using materials provided by CBM.

Individual participants will attend 4 group training sessions prior to the trip. These sessions may be online or in person, depending on geographical availability.
