Jordan Kan
Whohoo! Virtual Camp 2021! Super hyped to be able to spend time this week with you all! In middle school, I came to a realization that being a Christian and taking faith seriously is my decision and not something I inherited from my parents or by going to church. It was then that I started taking my faith seriously. I can’t say no ever to ice cream! I graduated from Cal (Go Bears!), In five years, I hope to continue to faithfully serve God as a pastor at a church.
Jordan Kan was born and raised in South San Francisco and attended Fellowship Bible Church in Belmont where his father is the Associate Pastor. Being both a "church kid" and a "pastor's kid" made identifying when he had a saving faith difficult. It was in middle school where it clicked that the Christian faith was between him and God and no one else could save him. It was then, that he took the first steps towards taking the Christian faith seriously. In his sophomore year of high school, God laid on his heart a desire and passion to go into pastoral ministry. After graduating with a Bachelor's degree in American Studies from the University of California, Berkeley, Jordan worked as a librarian for four years before pursuing ministry training. As of July 2021, he has finished two years of the Master's of Divinity degree at Western Seminary (‘22). When Jordan is relaxing, he enjoys watching sports (baseball, football, basketball), playing with his dog Oreo, hanging out with friends, reading, and eating ice cream.
