Chris Wong

Hi everyone! I’m Chris Wong and was saved in college as I grew to understand the gospel and what it meant to follow after Christ during my time at UC Riverside. I currently help oversee the post-college/career fellowship at Lighthouse Community Church in Torrance, CA. I consider myself a foodie, so I like driving all around SoCal to find the best boba shop located in the 626 or eating cheap street tacos with my friends. You can also find me at some hipster coffee shop reading a book or studying while listening to lo-fi or Korean R&B jams. In the next couple of years, I hope to continue what I’m currently doing for work–pastor in a church and disciple others to follow Christ.

Chris was born and raised in Sacramento where he attended church and was exposed to the gospel at a young age. By God’s grace he became a Christian during his college years at UC Riverside. After graduating with a B.S. in Business Administration (’08), Chris lived and worked in San Francisco for eight years where he grew in his faith at San Francisco Bible Church. It was during this period that a desire to dedicate more time towards the work of pastoral ministry grew. Chris ultimately left his job and moved to Southern California for seminary training (‘16). Upon moving, he worked as a pastoral intern while studying at The Master’s Seminary where he received his M.Div (‘20). Chris currently serves as a Ministry Associate at Lighthouse Community Church in Torrance, the local church family he’s been a part of ever since leaving San Francisco. In his free time, Chris enjoys reading, exercising at the gym, the occasional K-Drama, and trying new coffee shops with his friends.
