Cruise to Ensenada: See God's World

But Daniel resolved that he would not defile himself with the king’s food, or with the wine that he drank.
Therefore he asked the chief of the eunuchs to allow him not to defile himself. Dan. 1:8

Under blue skies and balmy weather 63 CBM'ers set sail from Los Angeles along the Pacific coast via Santa Barbara to Ensenada.

Living in a world that looms with gloom and doom, what is a Christian to do? How should a believer live under a world increasingly hostile to faith and Christ? Spotlight on Daniel: In a 4 day CBM 50+ cruise-conference to “See God's World,” Pastor Jerry Wong, Maranatha Bible Church, taught from the life of Daniel to help us examine how God can use circumstances, people and government for His purposes when hearts are aligned, confident and fully yielded to Him.

We began with the lesson that even though our pilgrimages are sometimes out of our control, God’s world is still under His sovereign control. As a young Jewish boy unceremoniously exiled to Babylon, almost overnight Daniel’s life was ripped away from familiar surroundings to be replaced by pagan environment, pagan gods, opulent food and lifestyle. Yet, like refugees, how do young Jewish boys such as Daniel and his 3 friends stand up against that kind of pressure? We observed that a distinctive trait of Daniel was his steadfast resolve. “But Daniel resolved…” (Dan 1:8). God gave Daniel and his friends favor. God has His plan. We may not see it, we may not understand it, but God is doing something great.
